Water
Water is a strategic resource. Treat it like one.
Nothing survives, grows, cools, or generates without it. Coactive brings the same loop it uses for critical metals to the water questions that get answered too late.
Upstream of everything
Metals get the headlines. Water gets used by everything the metals are for.
Drinking water, food, and habitat first. Then irrigation, industry, and generation. Then the cooling behind compute. Same watersheds, same uneven distribution, same expensive measurement, same decisions made too late.
What runs today
Blooms, invasive species, and water quality. From orbit to in-situ.
Harmful algal bloom detection and water-quality assessment pair hyperspectral sensing with in-situ validation. Aquatic invasive species detection runs on the same pipeline and has a season of Caddo Lake behind it.
Sentinel-2, tile R026. Detections are model output over real imagery; treatment decisions are not based on satellite detections alone. Known confusion case: giant salvinia and alligator weed can overlap spectrally in some bands.
- Problem
- Water managers learn about a bloom, an invasion, or a quality excursion after it has affected intake, habitat, or health. Sampling programs are sparse and the water changes faster than the schedule.
- Output
- A near-real-time risk and water-quality map for a defined water body, the in-situ samples that confirm it, and the points where the next sample most improves confidence.
- Method
- Active learning chooses every measurement. Meridian tasks hyperspectral captures over the water body, and Lodestar detects chlorophyll, turbidity, and species signatures. Traverse selects where teams or sensors sample. Lab identification and water-quality assays update the map.
- Maturity
- In development with science-ecosystem partners. Detections are not treated as operational decisions without field validation.
- Boundary
- Coastal and surface-water monitoring does not establish freshwater availability, groundwater assessment, or cooling-water reliability. Those are the direction, stated as direction.
